Nursery Information

Our term time only, teacher led Nursery class is available to children from the start of the term in which they turn 3. Nursery tours can be arranged through Mrs Claire Jeffries at our school office who will guide you through the paper work and availability.

Nursery Session Times

Anyone wishing their child to attend must collect a registration form from the office. There is often a waiting list for the Nursery so please apply early to ensure you receive your chosen sessions.

Invoices will be sent out via email, post or the eldest sibling's teacher. Our fees and charges policy is attached below.

We accept the 30 hours childcare extended entitlment from age 3, 15 hours entitlement from age 3 and 2 year old funding for those eligable. More information about available funding can be found at  https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

If you receive disability living allowance please let Mrs Jeffries know when applying for your child's place. We also accept childcare vouchers and working tax credit.

Your child is not required to wear the school uniform for Nursery, however many parents choose to do so. Please wear clothes that you do not mind your child getting messy as we enjoy creative exploration and outdoor learning.

If your child is staying for lunch you can send them with their own packed lunch (in line with our healthy eating policy) or choose a school dinner/packed lunch at a charge of £1-60. Fruit snacks and milk are provided for the children, however, you are welcome to send a healthy snack to suit your child's needs. (No nuts please).

Settling in

If you wish to settle your child with shorter sessions initially, you are welcome to do this within your booked sessions. During this time you are welcome to stay with your child. As each child's needs are different, we are happy to discuss this on an individual basis.

(Please note that currently, due to Government Covid 19 guidelines, we are unable to offer parents the opportunity to stay for settle sessions.)

Please do not send your child into Nursery if they have a temperature. Please ensure that 48 hours have passed after the last incidence of sickness or diarrhoea.

Transition to Reception

Is your child starting in our Reception classes in September 2021?

Feel free to book a tour with Mr Page or Mrs Sim.

There will be a transition letter sent home to all parents/carers in the summer term. This letter will give parents information about transition and links to a presentation about life in Reception, including photos of the setting and staff and a list of the things your child will need to bring with them.

Available below is a helpful guide on school readiness from PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years).
