Nursery Information
We have a wonderful nursery led by our Early Years and SEN expert Amy Hamer (EY SENDCO and EYFS lead). We have revamped and remodelled our EYFS provision for September 2024 and we are extremely proud of our enriching and welcoming enevironment that caters for all children. We have experienced and caring practitioners who love working with the youngest children.
Our term time only, teacher led Nursery class is available to children from the age of two. Nursery tours can be arranged through Mrs Claire Jeffries at our school office who will guide you through the paper work and availability.
We look forward to showing you around!

If sessions are full you can request to be placed on the waiting list.
If your child is unable to attend a booked session, or you need to pick your child up early, please inform us via the school office 01271 812786
Please ensure that you only use the back gate (Tarka Trail) if you are bringing in/picking up your child in the middle of the school day.
Admissions
Anyone wishing their child to attend must collect a registration form from the office. There is often a waiting list for the Nursery so please apply early to ensure you receive your chosen sessions.
Invoices
Invoices will be sent out via email, post or the eldest sibling's teacher. Our fees and charges policy is attached below.
Funding
We accept the 30 hours childcare extended entitlment from age 3, 15 hours entitlement from age 3 and 2 year old funding for those eligable. More information about available funding can be found at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
If you receive disability living allowance please let Mrs Jeffries know when applying for your child's place. We also accept childcare vouchers and working tax credit.
Uniform
Your child is not required to wear the school uniform for Nursery, however many parents choose to do so. Please wear clothes that you do not mind your child getting messy as we enjoy creative exploration and outdoor learning.
Lunch
If your child is staying for lunch you can send them with their own packed lunch (in line with our healthy eating policy) or choose a school dinner/packed lunch at a charge of £2.00. Fruit snacks and milk are provided for the children, however, you are welcome to send a healthy snack to suit your child's needs. (No nuts please).
Settling in
If you wish to settle your child with shorter sessions initially, you are welcome to do this within your booked sessions. During this time you are welcome to stay with your child. As each child's needs are different, we are happy to discuss this on an individual basis.
Illness
Please do not send your child into Nursery if they have a temperature. Please ensure that 48 hours have passed after the last incidence of sickness or diarrhoea.
Transition to Reception
Is your child starting in our Reception classes in September 2023?
There will be a transition letter sent home to all parents/carers in the summer term. This letter will give parents information about transition and links to a presentation about life in Reception, including photos of the setting and staff and a list of the things your child will need to bring with them.
Available below is a helpful guide on school readiness from PACEY (Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years).
