Maths
At Caen school, our intent is to develop confident, resilient mathematicians whose ‘have-a-go’ attitude shines through their work. This positive attitude towards maths and desire to improve is highly valued at Caen and ensures the children develop a life-long interest in the subject. Through following the aims of the National Curriculum: fluency, reasoning and problem solving, we hope to convey the importance of maths in the children’s daily lives and wider world. As a school, we aim for the students at Caen to articulate their reasoning clearly and become collaborative learners supporting each other to strive for a greater understanding. Throughout their time at Caen, our mathematicians will be given rich opportunitiesto build their knowledge, skills and understanding. At Caen school we are on a journey to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics.
