Design and Technology
The Design Technology curriculum focuses on developing children’s skills in real life contexts. Over the course of their time at Caen, children will design and make a range of structures, textiles, mechanisms, electrical systems and food products. Our aim is that children develop as innovative and critical thinkers, creating purposeful and functional products which they take pride in. As well as teaching them the age appropriate technical knowledge, each project involves the children engaging in the four steps of investigating, designing, making and evaluating. Some of their learning and projects will be collaboartive whereas others will be undertaken individually.
We have a well resourced DT 'Maker Space' so children are able to have a fulsome experience of the primary curriculum.
